The Department of Computational and Systems Biology conducts theoretical and applied research across a broad range of the biological sciences, with a special focus on plant and microbial research. Particular strengths of the department include mathematical and statistical modelling, semantic modelling and data integration, biological physics and structural biology. In addition, our user support role underpins the research of the institute through training, software development and statistical analysis. Much of our research is carried out in collaboration with world-leading experimental groups within the John Innes Centre.
