WP2 - Patterning and Morphogenesis
The primary objective of WP2 is to discover and study the design principles of gene regulatory networks which allow a multi-agent tissue to developmentally-build a specific pre-defined spatial arrangement of different agent types. WP2 represent the developmental “building blocks” which form the basis for all subsequent WPs. Later WPs (damage repair, tracking objects etc.) start from the assumption that the mechanisms for creating the basic morphology of the SwarmOrgan already exist. WP2 has two main approaches, which focus on the standard 2D model and a 3D mechanical model.
